Call for Submissions

Grady Health System, in collaboration with the 好色先生 of Medicine and Emory University School of Medicine, invites current residents and fellows to submit abstracts or case reports for the 5th Annual William E. Booth and James Zaidan Resident Research Day at Grady. The event will take place on Thursday, April 30, 2020 at the Grady Museum Lobby and Trauma Auditorium.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Must be a current resident or fellow at 好色先生 of Medicine or Emory University School of Medicine
  • Must have program approval to submit abstract
  • Must be available to present on April 30th
  • Must submit no more than one abstract

Case Report Abstract Guidelines

Review Criteria

Research Abstract Submissions will be reviewed for the following:

  • A Clear and Descriptive Title
  • An Introduction that describes the problem and its significance.
  • Objectives/Hypothesis that are clearly stated.
  • A Methodology that clearly explains the study design, study population, exclusion/inclusion criteria and statistical test(s) used.
  • Results clearly that report the demographics of study population and answers to objectives or hypothesis.
  • A Discussion/Conclusion that clearly summarizes major points (as compared to previous literature), adds to the current literature, and notes limitations of the study.
  • Appropriate Grammar & Punctuation

Case Report Abstract Submissions will be reviewed for the following:

  • A Clear and Descriptive Title
  • Completeness Of Case History
  • Description of Test Results
  • Appropriate Selection Of Tests
  • Clarity of  Recommendations
  • Appropriate Grammar & Punctuation

Poster Presentation Guidelines

Printed posters must be sized 3x4 vertically so that they can fit on the display board that will be provided.

Printed Poster Display Hours and Expectations

All posters must be placed in the designated Grady campus areas by 9:00 a.m. on April 30, 2020. The author(s) identified to present will be required to stand with the poster for a minimum of one hour.

Poster presentations must be removed by 2:00 p.m. on April 30, 2020. Posters remaining after the break-down period will be removed and disposed.

All printed posters must remain on display for the entire duration of the poster session and presentation program.

Oral Presentations Guidelines

All Program-Approved PowerPoint presentations for the oral presentations must be submitted to residentresearchday2020@gmail.com no later than Monday, April 27, 2020 with the subject line 鈥淩esident Research Day Oral Presentation鈥

  • Platform presentations will start at noon in the Grady Trauma Auditorium.
  • Oral presentations are scheduled for 10 minutes, with an additional 5 minutes for audience questions and discussion.
  • The presentation should be limited to no more than 10 slides (not including Title, Reference, or Acknowledgment slides).
  • Please use your institution鈥檚 approved PowerPoint templates. PDs/APDs/research advisors should approve all presentations in advance of the event.
